(More customer reviews)I love the townhouse my husband and I rent, but there are a few outlets that aren't connected to any switches....namely the ones in the living room, our bedroom and our baby's room. So I've been looking for something that would allow me to turn on the lights from the door of each room. I also wanted this device to dim our existing lamps, so that my newborn wouldn't be completely awakened during a nighttime feeding. I bought one device but returned it right away, because it was expensive and required a similarly expensive remote. But the Magic Tap has been great -- I only needed to plug it into a power strip, plug my lamp into it and turn the lamp on. Now I have a dimmer lamp! The remote has been great too -- I stuck the remote onto the switchplate that's not connected to any outlets and now I never have to walk blind into our bedroom and turn on the lamp on the other side of the room. And there's no beating the price here. I plan to buy another one, maybe two more, of these dimmers.
