(More customer reviews)I had to have these to pass inspection for our new pool. I was forced to purchase 12 (state law). Of the 12 only 2 had the back cover screws that were not over tightened. There was NO way to get the backs off to install the 9v battery. I finally out of frustration broke the covers off so I could install the battery for inspection the next morning. I was smart enough to purchase an extra just in case, and thank goodness I did. One of the units when I installed the battery, I started to screw the back cover on and noticed an odd smell, well it started smoking and the battery was so hot I could barely touch it. Well I thought I put the battery in wrong or something and put another battery in it, and it started getting hot also. So it cost me $7.00 to mail it back after getting an RMA. They tested it and sent me a new one fairly quickly. They got me through inspection, and they all came down mostly fell down as the tape doesn't hold. We have no small children and this was much cheaper than a baby fence. They are extremely loud and come with brackets to mount them along with the double sided tape.
