I am not sure why Generac couldn't include one with the generator so I ordered this one and it was a breeze to install. It can either be mounted with the provided double stick tape or they provide screws and a template to attach it. The sensor wire is simply wrapped around any spark plug wire and easily attached. Total install time was 10 minutes after I found my drill. The unit measures in 10 minute increments and has a flashing icon to show it is actively counting while your engine is running. The unit is sealed well and should last a long time. It is digital however and will eventually die so you might want to occasionally manually record the time in the event it fails.
