(More customer reviews)Though its true this alarm is loud, I like having it. Its worked fine for my family for years. True, you can't stand too close when it sounds off. When going out the door, try putting your hand over the noise area to mute it a little. They probably made it this loud to accommodate the size of ones home. This way a person can hear it if they are in an area that's far from the alarm. It's also great to have when you have kids home. You can hear them if they are leaving or coming home. No sneeking in or out without the parents hearing them.
