(More customer reviews)I used these adaptors to replace some maddeningly awful BRK smoke detectors with Kidde PI2000s.
The benefit of the adaptors is that you don't need to power down the circuit from the breaker box and spend time unwiring the BRK plugs and wiring in Kidde ones, and there's less chance of making a mistake and shorting out 110V. Instead, you can unscrew and unplug the BRK units, unscrew their mounting rings from the ceiling, screw on the Kidde mounting rings, attach an adaptor to each BRK plug, and plug in your new alarms.
Having said that, the adaptors are fiddly and stiff to fit. My recommendation is to fit the adaptors to the BRK plugs first, then plug the alarm onto the adaptor before screwing it into place on the mounting ring.
