Intermatic SP230B Programmable Wireless Alarm Review

When you arm the unit, it gives you 30 seconds to get out of the way. During this time it beeps once per second to let you know it's arming. This beeping is way too loud - it seems to be at the same 110dB intensity as the "ultra loud" siren! If you arm the unit every night, your next-door neighbours are not going to like it.
Also, when the unit is armed and motion is detected, it beeps and flashes for 10 seconds before sounding the full siren. Any burglar would notice this, and will have plenty of time to rip out the batteries (or just smash the unit) to silence the alarm before it goes off. What's the point, then? The on-line manual mentions a wireless "RF Siren Speaker Unit" option for this unit but no one sells that.
