Two years ago, at a different location, I got this as a gift. It died 30 minutes after I plugged it in. The LCD display started displaying randomly and then faded to a blank display. No display after that. I just threw the thing out.
Recently, I decided to try controlling some lights via X10. I remembered this unit and decided to try it again - mainly because it's the only X10 timer I can find. I figured (hoped) the problem I had with the first one was simply a fluke. Well it wasn't. Similar kind of failure. Not sure what the cause is. I'm at a different location now - different home. The power adaptor was pretty warm, but not too warm. My guess is the poor quality LCD's they use for the display are the culprit. Whatever the reason, in the ash can it goes. Last time I ever buy an [...] product.
