(More customer reviews)I ordered the Mighty Mule Wireless Driveway Alarm model 231 because I have had fairly bad results with IR motion detector based alarms. The MM Alarm arrived on time and in very good condition. Right away after opening the box, I noticed there was a problem. The PVC pipe for mounting the transmitter has been cut on an angle to allow easier driving into the ground like a stake. Unfortunately, the wire to the detector also has to be run up that PVC to the transmitter, so you will surely damage the wire while driving the stake if your ground is not extremely soft. My solution was to drill a hole in the stake about about 10 inches up so that the stake can be driven and then the wire fed into the hole and up the tube to the transmitter. This worked and I was able to install the sensor and transmitter with no other issues. Next, I found that the advertised 400' range is very suspect. I placed the transmitter a little over 325 feet from my house and the receiver would not pick up the signal from inside the house. I had to take it outside where it worked well. I moved the transmitter to about 150' from my house and it works excellent. I would say that this alarm is not satisfactory at 400' and MM should advertise it for 250' or less to be completely truthful. If you want a longer distance model, you'll need to buy a different product. It would also help if the volume could be doubled. It seems that none of these alarms include satisfactory volume for those of us who are slightly hearing impaired.

(More customer reviews)We have had it in place for about two months with a single false alarm due to very strong winds. I have forgot to turn the unit off before cleaning the pool and the first strong stroke of my broom set it off but the automatic pool sweep does not seem to effect it.
The outside and inside alarms are very loud. Installing the unit requires drilling in to the pool deck with a masonry drill. I would recommend this product.

My car traveled across all lanes of the freeway and slammed into the brick wall on right shoulder. Sort of bulky on my set of car keys and I thought, when am I ever going to use this? I paid the $15 for it and at that moment when I reached for it (the keys were still in ignition)I was praying it would work. I pressed it up against the glass of the drivers side and POW the glass exploded and broke a gigantic hole. I cleared the rest away with my hand and climbed out the driver's window. I can attest to say that this product worked and I am so happy I had it on me and am happy to be alive.

(More customer reviews)This alarm is terrific if you're in an apartment. For a house I would spend the money to have the whole house wired, but for apartments, it does the trick. Put one on each window/door and forget about the $100's in gates and bars. I refuse to be the prisioner in my own abode with gates and bars on the windows... I live in NYC. This alarm is loud and the batteries can be tested without setting it off. If you have old wooden windows it may not line up properly but you have a half inch deviance to play with before it activates, but most of the windows in NYC are energy efficent aluminum double glass..so for $6.06 each they're a bargain. I highly recommend it for apartment living.

We plugged it in and about a month later, it woke us at 4:00 a.m. to tell us that it detected CO in the air. I called the fire department to check the CO levels, and none was detected anywhere in the home. One of the firemen said that he had the same thing happen to him with his First Alert CO detector. ALL of the firemen said that the First Alert detector was prone to giving false alarms, and that the Kidde Knighthawk was the best on the market. After the firemen left, I searched the internet and found that many other people have had similar problems. A few people compared CO levels side-by-side, using the First Alert unit and the more sophisticated fireman's unit. The First Alert unit consistently detected CO in the air when there was none.

(More customer reviews)The product is easy to set up, the batteries are standard watch or micro electronic sized batteries, they fit under the socket holes on the lock and are easy to install. The body of the lock is quite solid, the hasp comes completely out of both sockets and can be reversed so the alarm does not got off. My only complaint would be that the item description does not have the dimensions of the hasp portion, the hasp is quite large and may not fit in smaller aperatures as I discovered. Good for a garden shed, not good for a locker.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these a couple of years ago, and it has just kept on working. I keep it by my front door and when someone I don't know knocks or tries the door handle, I pull the pin and they take off running! Sounds like and ADT Alarm. I am going to buy more.
